loud and clear, and questions

Last week was Study Week and this is the first Exam Week. Fortunately, I don’t have exams for the units I am doing, but I still have to complete some rather difficult and large assignments.

However, I’m still getting my bicycle rides into uni by attending the UniSpeakers Club which is part of LL&RS.

Last week there were only two of us, so all two of us received excellent tuition and feedback. The topic was “Handling Questions” and included how to prepare for questions, identifying the type of questions, and how to deal with difficult questions. I feel much more comfortable about this aspect of giving a talk than I was previously.

Today, there were many of us to participate in the topic of “Loud and Clear”. This involved preparing a talk and practising the appropriate tone, volume, and pace. That is, putting “It’s not what you said, it’s the way you said it.” to some positive use.
